Software

Connecting to Emerald and transferring files to and from your machine requires that you have a secure FTP client, one that uses the SSH protocol, on your Mac or PC.

For connecting to Emerald:

SecureCRT


For web editing and uploading files:

Adobe Dreamweaver MX 2004 or higher


For connecting and transfering files:

Windows, Mac, and Linux - FileZilla (free, open-source)
Windows -, WinSCP (free, open-source)
Mac - Cyberduck (free, open-source), Fetch (15 day trial)

On October 1st, 2008, the Emerald server domain name will change from emerald.tufts.edu to emerald.uit.tufts.edu. The following documentation will help you change the host server settings in your current and new software applications. Do not apply these changes before October 1, 2008.
