IMP (Internet Messaging Program) is the University Webmail system that can be used to access email by anyone who has a Trumpeter account, ISP, and Internet connection. IMP Webmail 4.0 utilizes a graphic interface that is clean, intuitive, and user friendly. It's also vendor neutral, which means that you will be presented with the same Webmail client no matter which operating system, browser, or brand of computer you use. New features of IMP 4.0 include:
- Message filtering capabilities to decrease the impact of spam and help you organize your messages more effectively
- Retention of composed messages when a session times out
- An editor for composing messages in HTML
- The ability to zip attachments for download to local and network drives
- Server-side filtering
Server-side filtering is a solution both for webmail users and for client users, providing a filtering interface that processes mail as it is delivered. Because filtering action is independent of the client, users who access mail from multiple computers and locations won't need to duplicate filtering in multiple locations. To assist you in managing spam, Webmail has a preloaded default spam filter that can be activated with a single click.
You can access your IMP Webmail account by connecting to https://webmail.tufts.edu and logging in with your Trumpeter login name and password.
