Q: What software is covered under the Microsoft Campus Agreement?
Q: How do I obtain the software covered under the Microsoft Campus Agreement?A: To view a complete list of software covered under the agreement, visit the Overview page.
A: Contact your FSP or local IT support organization. Every support organization has access to a comprehensive library of available software.
Q: Will I be able to get Microsoft software for my computer at home?
A: All employees who are eligible for software under the MS Campus Agreement are able to download the software onto their home computers. Use of Work-at-Home software obtained under the Campus Agreement is subject to several restrictions. It may only be used for business purposes, it may only be loaded onto a single home computer or laptop and it must be deleted in the event the employee leaves the university or the MS Campus Agreement is terminated.
Q: Will I be able to receive support for the software that I use at home.
A: Support for home use is determined by the user’s local IT support organization.
Q: Can I use older versions of software covered under the Microsoft Campus Agreement?
A: You may use any available back version of a Microsoft software product that is covered under the agreement.
Q: What operating system should I order if I need to buy a new computer at work?
A: Since operating system upgrades are covered under the Campus Agreement, some local IT support organizations recommend purchasing the least expensive Windows OS from the computer manufacturer and upgrading to a supported OS offered under the Campus Agreement when the computer is installed.
Q: Are clinical faculty included in the Microsoft Campus Agreement?
A: No. Clinical faculty are not included in the Campus Agreement. The Campus Agreement is based on the faculty/staff head-count reflected in university-reported IPEDs data. Clinical faculty are not included and, therefore, not permitted to participate in the Campus Agreement.
Q: Does the MS Campus Agreement include Macintosh computers?
A: Yes. MacIntosh versions of covered software, where available, are included in the MS Campus Agreement.
Q: I am an end-user. What should I do if I encounter home installation or support problems that I cannot resolve?
A: Contact your FSP . If your FSP cannot resolve the issues, he/she will be able to contact the UIT Support Center to assist in resolving the problems.
Q: I am an FSP. What should I do if I encounter installation or support problems that I cannot resolve?
A: FSPs have several resources at their disposal for installation and support issues. For assistance, contact the UIT Support Center.
