Program Information
Microsoft reserves the right to cease offering the Campus Agreement Program at any time. Tufts’ current Campus Agreement has a 5-year term and runs through June, 2014. The cost of the Campus Agreement is based on a count of full and part-time faculty and staff as reported to the government annually. The program is funded centrally.
Software Distribution on the Tufts Campuses
Software for installation on computers which are owned or leased by Tufts University is now available from each school’s or division's IT support organization. Since each support organization may have specific policies and procedures regarding the distribution and installation of the covered software products, faculty and staff should contact their respective FSPs for assistance and information.Home Use
All of the products covered under the Campus Agreement may be used on one home machine or laptop, but may only be used for work-related activities. Upon separating from the university, faculty and staff who have installed Campus Agreement software on a personally-owned computer are obligated to uninstall and delete the software.
Software may be obtained for home installation in one of two ways. For those having high-speed Internet access at home (e.g., a cable modem or DSL), all but one of the covered Microsoft products can be downloaded by clicking here . The only product which cannot be downloaded from this site is the Windows operating system upgrade, which requires media for installation.
For those who lack high-speed Internet access and cannot use the download facility, a limited amount of special "home use" media is available. Available products change regularly and may include some or all of the following. Contact your FSP for the most current inventory.
- Windows Vista Business Upgrade (32-bit)
- Windows 7 Ultimate Upgrade (32-bit)
- Windows 7 Professional Upgrade (64-bit)
- Office Enterprise 2007
- Office Professional Plus 2010
- Office 2008 Standard for Mac
Faculty and staff may obtain Work-at-Home media by contacting their FSPs. The email making the request should specify the product required, identify who is requesting the media and his/her campus address.
Conditions of Use
Software which is licensed under the Microsoft Campus Agreement ("Software") may be loaded on any machine which is owned or leased and managed by Tufts University. Tufts University faculty and staff may also load the Software on one home machine or laptop for university-related use. Upon change in status or separation from Tufts University, faculty and staff must remove the Software from the home machine or laptop.
Software covered under the Microsoft Campus Agreement may only be used during the term of the agreement. If Tufts University terminates its Campus Agreement, the University will notify members of the Tufts community and any Software which was provided under the agreement must be deleted and removed from all computers or a license must be purchased.
