Gina Siesing

Educational and Scholarly Technology Services

In her role as Director for Educational and Scholarly Technology Services, Gina works with colleagues to provide a full spectrum of services for Tufts academic clients.  A primary focus of her position is communication and collaboration with deans, faculty, and other academic colleagues across Tufts to understand technology goals and to envision best approaches to meeting those goals both at the institutional level and within local departmental and program contexts.  Working with colleagues at Tufts and beyond, she researches trends in teaching, learning, and research technology and makes determinations about appropriate places to introduce new resources and technologies. Prior to joining Tufts, Gina worked for six years within the Instructional Computing Group in Harvard's Faculty of Arts and Sciences , managing a team of instructional designers and developers, coordinating faculty development and support programs, and working with colleagues across the university to develop infrastructure and services to meet ever-evolving educational technology needs.

Gina received her Ph.D in English from the University of Texas at Austin and her B.A. in literature and women’s studies from Swarthmore College.  From 2008-2011, Gina served as a member of the Board of Trustees of NERCOMP , participating with the SIG Committee, the Institutional Representatives/Membership Committee, and the Annual Conference Program Committee and chairing the NERCOMP Annual Conference held in Providence, RI, in March 2011.  Gina is an avid reader who thought she’d never want to move beyond analog books, but has become a huge fan of her e-book device.  She also enjoys swapping tales of favorite recent meals at new local restaurants.
