Changing Your Email (Tufts) Password

Tufts Complex Password Standards require that your Tufts (email) Password be changed every 180 days. You may wish to review the complex password requirements before you begin.

IMPORTANT

  • Changing this password also updates your Tufts network log in password.

  • If you have a smart-phone or other email-enabled device, such as an iPad, update your password in the Account Settings of the device as soon as possible.

  • After your successful password change, you must logout and login again to avoid being locked out of your domain account.

To change your password:

1. Ensure that you have an active Internet connection and browse to http://tuftstools.tufts.edu.
The Tufts complex password requirements are listed to the right of the form to help you create passwords that comply with Tufts' password standards. You should review them before you proceed.

2. When you've read the requirements, add your Tufts Username (your UTLN) after tufts in the Account field. Do not delete tufts or your password reset will fail.

Type your old, or current, password in the Old password field.

Type your new password twice; the first time to set the new password, the second time to confirm it.
