General Dialing Information
Each campus telephone is programmed with a specific dialing range. Dialing ranges include campus only, local, NE/NY, domestic long distance and international. To change the dialing range on a phone, send an email to teldesk@tufts.edu.
The originator of a call is responsible for all usage charges incurred by placing the call.
Internal Dialing
Dial the 5-digit extension of the internal (Tufts) party you wish to reach. All Tufts extensions are 5-digits. Boston campus extensions begin with 6, Medford campus extensions begin with 7, and Grafton campus extensions begin with 8.
External Dialing
Local Calls
Dial 9 + 1 + area code + 7-digit telephone number.
Long Distance CallsDial 9 + 1 + area code + 7-digit telephone number.
International CallsDial 9 + 011 + country code + city code + telephone number.
Operator Assisted CallsDial '0' from a campus telephone to reach a Tufts operator. The operator can place a call for you and will charge the call to the extension you are calling from.
